Project Ezra

Each year, on Christmas Day, Temple Shalom members volunteer their time in order to relieve those celebrating Christmas so they can be home with their families. Ezra which is the Hebrew word for “help” is a program sponsored by the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts. For many years, members of Temple Shalom have prepared, served and cleaned up for over 50 residents at Father Bill’s Shelter.

Donation Opportunities

The Library Fund supports the Templelibrary and has two opportunities for donations. One is a $5.00 card in honor, get well or in memory. The other is an $18.00 donation for a book to be inscribed for various occasions. Please contact Barbara Stoller at 617-696-5791 to donate.

Milton Community Food Pantry

Temple Shalom supports the Milton Food pantry with donations throughout the year with particular support during Yom Kippur.

The Pantry accepts donations of non-perishable canned goods and especially boxed and bagged items which are lighter to transport.

Holiday Toy Drive

Every year Temple Shalom donates toys to a non-profit called Teen Empowerment The toys are given to urban youth (mostly from Dorchester) in a toy give away for children in need. They are looking for unwrapped toys for children aged birth to 18. Gifts should be in the 10-20 dollar range. Please, no guns or war toys. For more information visit: www.teenempowerment.org.
